The second week of the Iowa Poor People's Campaign was a "Call to Action: Ways to shatter the silence of systemic racism." People gathered at the Iowa Judicial Building and walked to the Shattering Silence sculpture, built to commemorate Ralph, a freedom-seeker from Missouri who eventually won his freedom in Iowa. People sang songs and pledged to work against racial profiling, Islamophobia and voter suppression and in support of immigrants, indigenous peoples and all people persecuted because of their status or religion.
