After a contentious debate, the Iowa House amended and passed Senate File 481 by a vote of 55-45. The bill would punish government entities that restrict local law enforcement cooperation with ICE. Dozens of immigrants and allies watched from the galleries. The bill now goes back to the Iowa Senate for consideration.
