Nearly 150 people joined AFSC Iowa in celebrating AFSC's centennial. Jeanette Vizguerra, a Sanctuary leader from Colorado, gave the keynote address. Joyce Ajlouny, AFSC General Secretary, spoke about AFSC's history. Erica Johnson, AFSC Iowa director, presented two community awards to Isabel Conn and Fabiola Schirrmeister. Workshops included immigrant rights organizing with Jeanette; Sanctuary logistics for congregations with Gabriela Flora and other Coloradans; and a panel of former AFSC staff sharing lessons learned, moderated by Jon Krieg.
