Over 100 immigrant rights advocates and allies packed the Des Moines City Council Chamber to push the Council to do more than issue a nicely worded "Compassionate Community" proclamation. For more than five months, activists have advocated the adoption of a Welcoming City resolution that would, among many things, restrict police cooperation with ICE. People vowed to keep up the effort.
